My daughter bought Radiohead tix some time ago (I've only just found this out) for Sydney - paid $798. She didn't check the tix straight away and just before the concert realised that they were actually not tickets for the Sydney concert. She contacted the ticket seller and he promised to reimburse her - many times. The last contact he had with her he told her he was having financial difficulties. She has since found out he is actually on holidays right now!
Anyway - I think there is no solution because of the time delay, but does she have any recall at all with Ebay over the tickets? I'm guessing she has left it too late for both Ebay or Paypal. I'm not real sure of how it all works, have been a buyer for some time but never had any problems. Thanks...

I believe it is OK to use electronic delivery if it is for something like tickets that are going to be printed. I can't be bothered to go off and look but sure it says something about that in both the ebay and Paypal policies.
One has to wonder if the daughter is even old enough to have an ebay account if they are irresponsible enough to leave checking their purchase for so long and causing the seller to be out so much money for a mistake that could probably have been rectified if they had contacted them straight away and they need their mother to ask for help that is very childlike behaviour.

Lyndal - I didn't know the full story fm my daughter until way down the track. I assume it was an email that she didn't check for the tickets. Have had tickets before via email.
phorum junkie - she is well and truly old enough for an eBay account. She didn't leave checking it for so long. She chased it up and that was what took so long. She was naive in believing someone said they would repay her. She was naive in believing that so many times. She didn't tell me for so long because she felt silly for her mistake. It wasn't ages before she told the seller the tickets were wrong. The seller sent the wrong tickets, not her fault. Seller said he would repay her because he knew he had made an error. The problem with the seller was the delay in honouring his commitment to fix his error. That was the cause of the delay all along. Her behaviour is not childlike.

I agree she is very lucky seller was as in Australia. I can imagine how I wld have felt in my 20's if I lost $800. Lesson well learnt for her. Would think there are a lot of mums out there who would have done the same thing for her child - even if they are an adult. I am a strong believer in social justice and asked the forum for guidance around dealing with that. Thanks for those that did that. Please note she never asked her mother for help. She was upset, I got the story eventually from her and as a mum said i would try to help. My professional life involves advocating for victims of violence every day. I took on that hat and did what I could to advocate for her. Also I'm her mum - that's what mums do...
Thanks to all for your help. Glad to get a good outcome and pleased that seller honoured a long overdue commitment.
