Re: ripped offed

When there is a problem with a purchase, yes, the first step is to contact the seller, but if the seller is not helpful you have to stop communication with him/her and open a case (you have 30 days since the last day of the estimated delivery). If you keep communicating with a seller who is not willing to help, you will just lose your money and your time.

You have been on eBay for a long time. Please read how you can get your money back:

Re: ripped offed

Obviously you did not use any of the tools eBay give you to get your money back

if you choose not to open a case within the time limit, that is on you

As. self declared regular buyer, you have no excuse not to know the most basic thing like open a case to get your money back

eBay do not read here

So your warning to others should be if you just do your own thing and ignore the correct procedure, yes, you will lose money

If you open the dispute, rather than play games, and expect eBay will assist you anyway  you will be covered

Re: ripped offed

Am a bit confused.  If you have had such a bad time buying on Ebay "Why are you going to buy 1 more thing"??

Most people would quit now or at least learn how to check feedback and raise disputes.

Re: ripped offed

Stop buying cheap carp from China, expecting brand name quality, and then whinge that you are being ripped off. Then you won't have the issues you're having. Your feedback left for others says a heck of a lot.

Probably a good thing you are closing your account, because millions of sellers around the world don't want you as their customer, because all they can see is trouble.

FYI, it takes 6 months for your account to close after finalisation of your last transaction.

Oh, and ebay don't care if you close your account. Seriously, they don't care one bit. You aren't even a blip in the universe to them.

Maybe read up on the help pages so you don't find yourself ripped off. Buyers never get ripped off, so clearly you've allowed it to happen.

Edit: with 388 feedback, I highly doubt ebay would class you as a "Reglar" buyer. Once you get over 100,000 sales, then they might see you as such.

Agreed

Only buys to neg

Find it very hard to believe after close to 9 years they 'don't know' basics

The other great thing, closing their account means one less person keeping dodgy sellers in business

Re: ripped offed

It looks to me, from your feedback received, that you've bought over 400 items from different sellers on ebay but you have only left feedback for 7 of them and only when something went wrong.

7 out of over 400 is not a lot, but it is still a lot higher than I have had happen to me.

When something goes wrong, the first thing you need to do on a site like ebay is check out the help pages to see how to go about getting your money back. From what I can gather, your only strategy has been to message the seller. That hasn't worked, yet you keep doing it over and over.

There's a better way. If you don't receive something or it is significantly not as depicted in the ad, you can bypass the seller and go straight to ebay and open a claim. Read up about it.

You can close your account if you wish, but then again you could just leave it and not use it and then if, in the future, you wanted to give it another go, you wouldn't have to open a new account.

If you are seriously worried about things going wrong though, don't buy 'one more thing.'

If you must, try to make it from an aussie seller. Less trouble that way, usually.
