i have dealt with a seller i never want to use again. why wont ebay allow me to blacklist him (to me) if i ever accidently use him again.
i can mark someone as a 'preffered' seller- but not an undesirable seller.

i guess the replies say it all.... ebay has no responsibility to care for its users. liars are permitted/condoned and other members are ok with that. its no wonder that faud is common here.
the message is... upvote good members, but dont protect yourself from bad. ebay gets commission whether good or bad

Buyers also need to protect themselves and stop blaming other people for the choices they make
Buyers who choose to buy from such sellers are the ones helping to keep them in business and have themselves to blame
It is very clearly stated the seller is registered in China, their 76 negs for lying, never sending etc are also clearly shown
You made the choice to buy from them anyway and then accuse people here of protecting such sellers
For your information, I do not buy from such sellers, nor do a lot of people here
How is people who do NOT help keep them in business are 'ok with fraud'
We are not the ones supporting the fraud by buying
And eBay staff do not read here

excuse me..... where did i mention the seller .... where are the negative reports.
i asked a simple question... basically why can i upvote a seller, but not downvote..... even for private use.
perhaps members should work with information given ...... not their own imaginations.

Chinese sellers are a protected species and ebay can't touch them, we don't protect them ( meaning us members ) we just don't buy from them lol.
Do your research before you buy on ebay no matter who the sellers are!

So are you saying the seller you left the neg comment for most recently is not the same seller you are talking about in this post here?
You said you know where to check for feedback so you would have seen the neg comments
Both sellers you are left negs for are in China, both have terrible feedback
Since I am such a liar I will not bother with you any further

i have not left any feedback for this seller.
i know you vbelieve you know it all.... but you have no clue

eBay gives sellers the ability to block specific buyers from purchasing from them, as it was an obvious potential scenario where a buyer may want to deal with a seller who doesn't want to deal with them. I don't think it ever really occurred to them that a buyer who doesn't want to buy from a seller ever again would go ahead and do so anyway (seller has no control over the choice a buyer makes to purchase, so the block is practical, buyer has full control over their purchase decisions, so a block preventing them from doing something they don't want to do anyway is less practical).
You could always message the seller and ask them to add your username to their blocked bidder list. That way you won't even have to note their user name anywhere, and can't buy from them again even if you forget you don't want to, or if they change their user name and you don't realise it's the same seller. I did that once (asked a seller to block me - though in fairness, it was more of a way to say "I'm never buying from you again" than it was out of necessity), no idea if they actually added my name, though, as I still remember exactly who they are.
