I recently bought a couple of e-book readers. One on a Monday and the other the following day. Different devices, different sellers.
Both local (one in Sydney, one in Brisbane.).
After 10 days of zero contact from the Brisbane seller, I contacted her thropugh eBay and demanded a refund. The following day, I received an email saying the item had been posted and was due the previous day. And later the same day I received a PayPal email saying the seller had made a full refund. Now, anopther week later, the item has never arrived. That's item 1.
Item 2, bought on Tuesday 13th, seller sent an email 2 days later saying the item had been posted. 3 days after the due postage date, I email'd him (via Ebay) saying the delay was unreasonable and asking for some proof the item had been posted. Two days later, I received another PayPal refund. And, needless to say, the item has never arrived.
So both sellers have managed to send falso mailing notifications. And both sellers actually did not, quite obviously to me, never even popsted the item.
And neither of these cretins ever made any contact with me, before or after refunding the price.
Can eBay control this sort of behaviour?

Until a few months ago I was following a seller in the UK who had nice, cheap items I was interested in and 100% positive feedback. Suddenly I noticed that the negs started to accumulate and eBay must have kicked him or her (I think her) out (she is "no longer a registered user"). Well, it must be tough if you are on your own and something happens, like you have an accident or an emergency and have to go to the hospital. Not sure what happened to this person. I noticed that a seller I bought from in Australia had also bought from this seller a few times and was happy. Suddenly nobody received their items any more, the negs accumulated and the seller was kicked out. That's why I don't sell. I have a lot of health problems myself, am on my own and just can't know what is going to happen.

Hi pr_moi, sorry to hear about your predicament. I wonder if these sellers are selling stuff that is ex-stock. I'm not a fan of this type of selling as it can cause problems and headaches. Some sellers set themselves up with around 3 suppliers that will despatch their orders for them.. That way if one can't supply the other two may be able to. I have had items sometimes arrive months later due to this.
I prefer to deal with sellers that actually have their own stock but sometimes this isn't possible. Hopefully you don't have to go through this again.
