I bought an item, which I judged very carefully by the pictures, front and back, and would not have bought if I thought I wasn't getting the one pictured. It was a loose item, so not a stock photo. When I received the item, it was definitely not the one pictured. While it was the same type of item, it was not nearly as well made (very obvious), and also had a distinctive flaw. I contacted the Seller, no explanation from her, just send it back for a refund. To America? I guess I am expected to pay the postage. I am unwell and unable to leave the house at the moment, and don't see why I should have to be inconvenienced like this. There was no offer to send the correct one when I send this one back. A previously favourite Seller, who I have dealt with for years, who I won't now ever trust or buy from again. I think eBay should really crack down on Sellers like this, I feel cheated and very disappointed. I will probably end up keeping the item which cost me an arm and a leg, because it would be just too costly to return it, even though I don't want it, even if it was free. My only satisfaction will come in leaving them the worst possible feedback I can think of. Why would a seller with 100% positive feedback want to pull a swiftie like this on a long term reliable customer who always paid for everything immediately and left great feedback. It doesn't make sense.

Before leaving feedback, try again to communicate with your seller and reason with them.
Be conscious of how your message to them comes accross. Sometimes the manner of the message can determine the response.
Example "You sent me the wrong item, you need to fix this" vs Hello, I received my item today, thank you. it was well packed/arrived very fast etc, but it appears that you may have sent me the wrong item. What I ordered was a blue dooberhicky with golden stars on the left, but I have received a green thingamybob with purple spots. I have enclosed some pictures for you. Looking forward to hearing from you"
It is in your best interest to try and reopen the lines of communication rather than just going straight for the jugular and leaving poor feedback.
Rather than write your seller off just yet, there are all kinds of scenarios that could have occurred which have led to you receiving the wrong item. It could be as simple as they packed a few orders on the one day and messed up the address labels. Sometimes people make mistakes. Maybe they confused you with another customer. Maybe the person who responded to you isn't the seller. Perhaps it is a friend or family member holding the fort whilst the seller is sick. Perhaps they didn't realise that you were from overseas - the possibilities are endless.
Don't go for the jugular before trying to communicate again.

Please put yourself in the place of your Seller, spare a thought for whatever situation may be affecting her/them, maybe a recent death in the family, who knows ? If you are as caring as you say you are, give non aggressive communication another chance.
I was battling Cancer awhile back, and messed up a sale or two with people, l was most unwell, but ebayers who commented on my actions and behaviour, had no idea l was so unwell. Am much better now, ....so treat all with good due, unless you really know or have proof, to the contrary.
Only respond when you are in full control of your keyboard. All the best, hope only good comes out of this for all.
