Hi

I purchased a golf cart off an Ebay seller. He told me i could pick it up from his warehouse.

I later found out that he did not register my purchase on Ebay. The product is faulty but i cannot complain to Ebay and he has taken the buggy back but will not refund my money.

i have been trying to contact him to get refund or buggy back but the phone is not answering.

What can i do ?

As per answers given on your other thread (I assume it is the same seller/item)

https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Buying-on-eBay/I-organised-to-pick-up-item-and-pay-for-it-on-pick-u...

So, you picked up the item in person?

Was there a reason you did not inspect it before taking it home?

You return it in person?

but did not get your money back at the time?

Is that correct?

I asked on your other thread....what does the seller have to register?

Did you inspect the item before paying for it and taking delivery of it?

If you hit the Buy It Now button the item will be in your purchase history...have you checked?

If you did not buy through ebay then you have no recourse to recover your funds.

i have been trying to contact him to get refund or buggy back but the phone is not answering.

Has the seller been deregistered by ebay?  Has the business closed down?

What can i do ?

Without the answers to the above questions there is no other advice that we can give.

Lyndal's right and your post doesn't give enough detail. It's as clear as mud.

When you buy on ebay, that sale is registered by ebay, the seller doesn't have to do anything & can't hide it.

Did you buy on ebay at all? It doesn't sound like it.

Or did you buy on ebay but then follow his instructions and pay into different paypal or bank account for the item prior to pick up?

Did you post the item back to him or return it in person?

If you had paid cash on pick up, I can't figure out why you didn't insist on a refund when you took it back, that's the sticking point here.

Instead of ringing, why don't you go around to the warehouse again and ask for your refund in person?

When you want to buy something on ebay, always buy through ebay, pay for it via paypal and never listen to any excuses why you should do it differently. If it is a pick up item, pay cash but check the item out before you hand over any money and if it isn't what you want, walk away without paying.

To add to this statement, when you buy off ebay, the seller CAN'T do anything to register the sale on ebay.  Only the buyer can do that (by buying on ebay).

Really, given all that has been said by the OP (very little of which makes sense/does not add up) and their unwillingness to respond to anyone's questions, it is sounding to me like a case of buyer's remorse which is why the seller won't refund

Who'd know what they mean?

There's an awful lot of buyers who don't understand how ebay works. There are those who think a seller's listings or store on ebay are actually their own website and there are those who think that ebay is actually selling the goods. I've lost count of the number of people who've said they want to buy something and said to just send them an invoice, without me having a clue who they are or their details.

The OP has been on eBay over 14 years and is a seller too, so they should have some clue surely?

Or at least ask for responders to clarify if they don't understand questions asked on either this or their other thread about the same thing

He's been on for years but doesn't seem to have been that active. All the same, you're right. You'd think if you had bought a few things plus sold on ebay, you'd make it your business to know a little bit.

But I suspect this is one of those dreaded posts where the person thinks they are addressing ebay direct and they sit back, no doubt expecting an answer to their inbox.
