Go into the listing and this comes up as the only option:

So the search title has nothing to do with the actual title so it's a form of click baiting to get people to look at an
item that they are not searching for (at other times they will have the standard search title in the listing but once
that's clicked on the price is more expensive than other similar items).
The second part has being a real pain for a while but the click bait is a real nuisance as even when they have a
more realistic price a lot of times the price is even higher when you click on the actual item.
eBay needs to either stamp it out themselves or at least have a way of reporting the listings in a form where it
can be stated why it should be removed (or at least have an option that states that it's click bait).
Removing the Email option that you could use to report listings was a real backwards move in allowing all
these type of listings to flourish.
End result was that I gave up searching for what I wanted/like/need (at least they are saving me money that I
don't really need to spend).
agreed 100% ebay getting harder to use and not eaiser, can no longer compare prices and items due to this

Agree.
I think it becomes infuriating when you do a very quick search/overview of a small item that maybe you've never bought before, just to try to get a feel for the ball park sort of price on ebay.
I did that once for a cake decorator item, just as I was on the way out to the market. Then later, saw the same or similar thing, just what I wanted, at the market, but it was several dollars dearer than the ebay price so I left it. Later when I had the time to actually open the ebay ad itself, I found the displayed price was not for the item I thought, it was for a different thing and the thing I was after was dearer than the market item.
It doesn't stop me buying off ebay but it did make me aware that ads on ebay can be misleading if you take them at face value.
I don't have much trouble though with this feature lately, I guess because of the sorts of things I buy. I tend to buy from Australian sellers and even when they have drop down menus, I find that they are pretty well always relevant eg a change in size/colour/quantity only.
