i had problem picking up my item because ebay didnt send me a pin number , they were supposed to send it to my mobile phone , that was 3 days ago , im still waiting, it left me upset and very frustrated to say the least, i had to make 2 trips to town which cost me more in fuel than it did to buy the item , im not a happy camper now !!!!!!

Have you tried to contact eBay about it?
I don't know what to suggest as I avoid anything click and collect
Other members with experience with it could likely better advise you what to do
I assume your mobile number listed with eBay is correct and up to date
Not sure who you are with but I did see a Facebook friend was having issues sending sms messages herself (she is with Telstra) a few days ago
*Possible* it is a telco issue rather than an eBay one?

i was finally able to talk to someone at ebay, and was told that now i have my item i will receive the pin number i need to collect my item , apparently the fault lied with the click and collect people at bigW they only had my item for 2 days and despite having no other parcels to scan they hadnt bothered scanning mine yet , i only done click and collect to save me a days wait but ended up waiting 2 days more , never again !!
any ways i hear Amazon is pretty good so i might go there from now on

Why would you think that it would be quicker to get your item sent to BigW and then pick it up than to have Australia Post deliver it to you direct?
It is hardly fair to blame ebay for the actions of the staff at BigW.
As for Amazon.....it has not been setting the world on fire since it started up in Australia.
You can use both ebay and Amazon at the same time.....you don't have to use one or the other..

yes i know, but its my dig at ebay and was a tongue in cheek comment
as to being faster when buying my item it had click and collect arrives thursday, aus post friday, im in the bush, so it would take an extra day for it to be picked up in town then out to me

While it might arrive at BigW on the Thurday it would have to be scaned into the system, the code sent to ebay immediately, then sent to you by ebay. This presupposes that it would have been done early enough for you to rush off to BigW immediately.
I would prefer to just wait for it to be delivered to me by AP.....what is one day in the grand scheme of things. You are now aware that the smooth delivery is dependant on the BigW employees doing their job...an extra step in the delivery process that went horribly wrong.

when i went to bigW i was told by the "millennial bimbo" as i called her that there were no parcels awaiting pickup, so the 3 emails i recieved saying it was delivered at 8:30 thursday morning were lying, when i got home that evening and rang big W i was told yes it is hee waiting to be picked up, it had in fact been there some 36 hours., then when i went in this morning Saturday 3 days after its arrival, it still had not been scanned into their system , their constant denial of my parcel aggravated me so much i almost got kicked out of big W, next time i think i will rely on snail mail its a lot slower but more reliable , tho i have had parcels lost in the post before
if i do get it sent to bigW again i will ring them before i travel the 25 klms and ask them to scan it so it will be ready for me to pick up

not sure you going back to that bigW would be such a great idea. From what you have posted I get the impression that you did call the girl at bigW a โmillennial bimboโ . . . . . . very charming. Good luck getting that girl to be helpful and sympathetic towards you.
Also, if you almost got yourself kicked out of bigW then maybe you wonโt have any problems with them again as they may have banned you from their store without telling you. First you might know about it is when MB calls for a supervisor when you approach the counter.
But all that aside, I do hope your fortunes change in what is left of JANUARY (?)

i didnt call the bimbo that to her face , but to her boss , i have since apologised to the manager who in turn apologised to me for the run around, i really didnt appreciated being lied to by someone who was too lazy to do their job , ( she went out the back and returned and told me they had no parcels awaiting pick up , so she blatantly lied to me)
it was extremely hot that day and i was unwell and very frustrated at being sent on a wild goose chase all around town when my item was there all the time, and by the staff's dogged insistence that i need some "pin number" that i had no way of getting till they done their job! last time i done click and collect from there all i needed was photo ID , i showed them the emails saying the parcel had indeed been delivered , it was like talking to a brick wall! they couldnt see past the pin number that ebay was supposed to send me , but didnt because THEY (the bigW staff) had not done their part and informed ebay that the parcel was there 2 days prior. the manager told me she is going to look into the staff training on click and collect,
any way im donre with this and i dont want to talk about it any more as it still upsets me

So you called her a millennial bimbo to her boss but apologised to the manager. Is her boss and the manager the same person? Iโm not asking to be difficult, I ask merely for clarification.
Sorry, but your explanation of the apology you made makes the apology seem half-hearted, disingenuous, hollow and fake. I say this for a number of reasons.
- Firstly, the apology should have been made to the girl herself, not her boss and not her manager
- Secondly, you continue with referencing her as โthe bimboโ in your post
- Thirdly, If you were genuinely sorry for calling her that then you would not continue to use that reference, not even here. I understand you are worked up about this, so maybe a time out is in order until you calm down.
i really didnt appreciated being lied to by someone who was too lazy to do their job , ( she went out the back and returned and told me they had no parcels awaiting pick up , so she blatantly lied to me)
Have you considered the possibility that she wasnโt lying? If it wasnโt where it should be for C&C parcels but on some other shelf due to another employeeโs actions then you could hardly blame her. I donโt know if that is what happened, but it might be possible. That employee might be in an โassisted work programโ, who knows. My point is that no employee deserves to be abused in the workplace whether to their face or to their supervisor. That girl is somebodyโs daughter, maybe somebodyโs sister. How would you feel if a daughter of yours (if you have any) came home and said they had a difficult customer who spoke to her boss and called her a millennial bimbo loud enough for her to hear and then didnโt apologise to her? Iโm guessing you would be seething!
I have a brother who worked at Kmart as a teen and a sister who worked at Woolworths in her teens. Hardly seasoned employees in their first year or two. They regularly got moved from one duty to another to โgive them experience in all areasโ which meant that just when they felt comfortable in a section they got moved to a new section. After 3 years they were more capable in all areas. However, they were always working with new employees who were being shuffled around.
When I was 17 I got a job at a Pizza Hut in western Sydney. If any customer bad mouthed any staff member, whether a teen casual or adult permanent, the manager would stop the customer in their tracks. His view was that no employee deserves abuse in the workplace. Sure, mistakes happen, but abuse is not acceptable. He would have asked a customer to leave rather than let them vent unchecked.
it was extremely hot that day and i was unwell and very frustrated at being sent on a wild goose chase all around town when my item was there all the time, and by the staff's dogged insistence that i need some "pin number" that i had no way of getting till they done their job!
By your own admission you have used C&C before, sometimes experiencing problems. If you were unwell, and the forecast was for hot weather, then why wouldnโt you have phoned them before driving 25kms without having a PIN number? You know how C&C works, you know about the store scanning the item and a PIN being issued . . . . . surely you could have anticipated there being some issue when you got into the store.
last time i done click and collect from there all i needed was photo ID , i showed them the emails saying the parcel had indeed been delivered , it was like talking to a brick wall! they couldnt see past the pin number that ebay was supposed to send me , but didnt because THEY (the bigW staff) had not done their part and informed ebay that the parcel was there 2 days prior. the manager told me she is going to look into the staff training on click and collect,
Generally speaking, I am sympathetic to the staff on the ground with regards to eBay C&C. Their core business is retail, not acting as a receiving/delivery agent for eBay parcels. It wouldnโt surprise me if C&C was dumped as an option some time in the future.
any way im donre with this and i dont want to talk about it any more as it still upsets me
Probably a good idea.
