What is a private buyer and whats stopping the seller bidding as a private buyer?

Buyers can have their IDs as private,when sellers have their listings set to private then only the seller knows who the bidders are and the rest of us don't know, that's the way it is.

An account can't bid on their own items.

Besides there are many ways ebay can check if it looks like shill bidding.

And if you are talking about private bidder, the seller sets it up as a private auction.
