why do Aussie sellers insist that the buyer leave feed back first?

why do Aussie sellers insist that the buyer leave feed back first?

shouldn't they leave feedback first to say I have paid - on time - without hassles?

why do I get emails telling me - after I have been sent the good (but not received them) to "remember to leave me feedback"

if you can send an email, send the feedback first...........

Lack of confidence, history ??????? any number of reasons.

As soon as the item is paid for and posted, I leave feedback for the buyer because IMHO they have fulfilled their side of the contract

of buying and opaying for the item.

I send sellers messages asking them to leave feedback if they don't and item has been posted. I just don't play their game.

Chinese are the worst (IMHO)

A transaction is not finished until the buyer receives the item and is happy with it. Feedback should be left when the transaction is finished (in my opinion), but it is up to the both parties when, and if, they leave feedback at all.

perhaps the sellers have the ebay automatic feedback reminder emails ticked - might not even realise it - and the reminders are coming from ebay?

Re: why do Aussie sellers insist that the buyer leave feed back first?

A lot of the emails you receive are auto generated by Ebay and have nothing to do with the seller.

Some sellers leave it on paying, some on receiving feedback

Some sellers dont like to leave feedback saying a buyer is like gods gift only to have the buyer attempt to blackmail or scam them making false claims.

Many buyers simply dont leave feedback at all.

Nobody should be expected to leave anything, only what they want to, when they want to.

Why do expect buyers to leave it first? What has timing got to do with it, sellers can't leave you bad feedback anyway.

if you are happy with your item leave feedback if you want. It's not compulsory to leave feedback. Are you buying the item just for feedback?

Why does a buyer even want feedback? It s just a record of how many things they have purchased from sellers who leave feedback, it serves no other purpose and I feel absolutely no need to tell the world how many things I have bought. I couldn't tell you how many feedback I have on either of my buying accounts, I receive my item, I leave feedback and then I archive the transaction without even looking to see if I have received any feedback.

Re: why do Aussie sellers insist that the buyer leave feed back first?

Feedback may be optional, so are manners. Sellers love to take your money and want feedback left for them. Why do buyers need feedback? Because it says "thank you for your custom" and no feedback sends the message, "I have your money now, so you damn well ain't gonna get any feedback out of me, who do you think you are" As a buyer, I consider it just plain good manners to leave feedback if a buyer has done everything right and paid quickly, it shouldn't depend if they are happy with the item, this almost seems like blackmail to me. That is the reason that eBay stopped the negatives for Buyers, because of blackmail. It is just good manners to say "thank you, for your purchase", those who think it is not necessary would just snatch your money in the real world and give you a dirty look in the bargain. Manners cost nothing, and those who would prefer to alienate their buyers may find they have fewer who will return. It is a reflection on my character to receive glowing reports from my Sellers. I for one do appreciate the good manners of the Sellers who do bother to leave feedback and who appreciate my prompt payments. I cannot understand why it is such an effort for some Sellers just to show a little respect for their buyers.

Just paying quickly is not  "doing everything right", if the buyer is a right pain in the posterior after something goes wrong with the sale they may not deserve a positive feedback, and the seller is quite right to refuse to give feedback at all if the buyer doesn't deserve it, there are many nightmare buyers out there. It has to be deserved on both sides.

If something goes wrong and there is more negotiation to fix the problem the purchase is not completed so feedback is not yet required. It has nothing to do with blackmail, no seller can blackmail you by not leaving feedback. I can't understand why waiting a few days until after the sale is complete is such a hassle for you.

Re: why do Aussie sellers insist that the buyer leave feed back first?

As a seller I leave feedback first.

To me it is an acknowledgement of purchase, payment etc, and a thankyou for the same.

Exactly what I would do if I was serving in a store.

Then its up to the buyer to say Thankyou in return, (or not).
