why don't more sellers provide contact details on listings?
it would be easier to sort out buying.
I have noticed a few like this and it is helpful for buyers.

Every page has a contact seller option, what else do you want

That has nothing to do with the seller, unless they have a sweetheart deal with eBay.
Us pedestrian sellers would get such details deleted by eBay and would also get a policy violation.
Generally all contact should be through eBay. And your example doesn't actually show that the seller you are spruiking has off-eBay contact in place. Assuming that is not in the links you have posted, which I will not be clicking on.
Phishing maybe?

The links you have included lead to the item, which every seller has, and the location, which if you're close enough to pickup you would already know.
I'm in Canberra. If you are near Glen Iris, you wouldn't need google maps to know you are hundreds of kilometres away.

Because, as Dave mentioned, it's a policy violation lol.
If a seller is willing to provide their phone number to prospective buyers, there's actually an official way to do it - sellers need to set it up so that it's displayed or given to members under specific circumstances.
Info page for buyers and sellers alike

I blanked out his phone number in the free local pickup section - which is not standard

So you want sellers to violate eBay policy to make it 'more helpful' for buyers?
Buyers are given everything they need
There is no legitimate reason to need personal contact details of the seller
Sellers who post such details will not have a selling career for long

No it is not standard, it is a policy violation plain and simple

They can get in trouble if they do.
Not that I sell but I have a friend who does.
Most of the items are for pick up and are stored at 2 warehouses in vastly different areas of Melbourne.
He can arrange for pick up at either facility as he works at both on different days.
He wanted to have the 2 suburbs listed in his item location. Not the actual addresses, mind you. Just the suburb location. He got into trouble. Had to adjust his ads.
He wasn't all that happy about it because, as he said, someone in the western or northern suburbs might not be interested in pick up from a distant south eastern suburb but if they know there is a choice of warehouse and one close to home, it might make all the difference and result in a sale.
But if he wanted to continue selling on ebay, he had to follow their rules.

All of my ads have 2 suburbs listed (not this account), one even has 3. Never had an issue in many many years. Maybe you friend was doing something else dodgy that showed where within the suburb.
