Where did you buy the item from? If it was overseas, then that would be an exchange rate difference. Also if you buy from overseas, you have to pay GST on that item, which would also account from the increase.
Just because a seller says they are in Australia, doesn't mean they are. Look at their feedback page to see where they are registered. That will give you and indication of where the parcel is really coming from.
Can you give the item number of the item you bought?
