Selling a bag

Hi I was just wanting some info on how to sell a mulberry bag.  My mum has asked me to sell it for her,  she purchased it on ebay about 2 years ago.  She paid $450 brand new for it.  As the normal price is about $1000 i thought she was buying a fake originally.  Anyway i listed the item and indicated that i wasn't sure if its authentic.  Ebay removed the listing.  I think what is really irritating is that I indicated that I was not sure of the authenticity but there are clearly sellers that are selling obvious fakes and they are not removed.  Does anyone know how to find out the authenticity of an item?  If not, its all good, mum will just have to keep it, or maybe give it to me!!

Re: Selling a bag

only Mulberry can give you a letter to say it is not a fake, and just putting inyour advert that you are not sure is not good enough.  fakes are NOT allowed to be sold in Australia by Law.  nothing to do with what ebay says, it is the law that says you cannot sell counterfeit items.

best to take it to a Mulberry store and get it OK-ed or just let mum keep it.

Re: Selling a bag

Actually most luxury brand retailers will not issue a letter as to authenticity for items not purchased in their stores.

The sale of used luxury branded goods online & ebay is huge and as a result the industry has its own authenticating services that are widely accepted by both buyers of luxury brand items and ebay. These are caroldiva, etinceler, authenticate4u, please google for contact details.

You will need to supply some very detailed photos but they will direct you as to what is needed. The service costs around $7 depending on who you use.

You cant list brand name products on ebay unless you are certain of their authenticity. This is why your listing was removed.

Once you have had ypour bag authenticated just give ebay the authentication details.

Good luck
