can someone help me with the name of this european painting

Hi, hoping those interested in art will recognise the name of this painting. Obvioiusly not the original. I'm wondering if it is a paint by numbers, I cannot tell, but I know it's proportions and colours are very close to original.

You are right - it is a bad version of Elioth Gruner's "Spring Frost" which I believe was painted in NSW.

The original is quite lovely.

Thank you so much for that. One of my friends has a print of this painting, otherwise I would have thought the amateur worked out the composition himself. I didn't realise it was Australian. Would I be breaking copyright law by putting up a 'bad version' for auction?

Actually, I shouldn't have said it was a bad version as that wasn't very nice of me, thinking back on my comment...

Anyone who turns their hand to any kind of painted artistic expression should be proud of their efforts so I shouldn't have said theirs wasn't very good. They certainly have more artistic talent than myself!

As for copyright laws....I have no idea how eBay views these things so I best not give advice.
