African drum, type and area info appreciated please

Hi a fellow gave me this drum today, I believe it is a bongo drum? Hopefully someone can ID the region in Africa it may have come from? Or is it from another country? thank you. It stands approx 42cm high and is approx 21cm in diameter across the top, hollow inside. The skin has some fur still on it. It has a face carving on one side, the remainder is a mix of diamonds and triangles patterns. thank you

i'm not sure where they are made now, but these drums and a lot of large carved figures are similar to what you see in surf and interior design shops. i think its reasonably contemporary (if you look at the ends of the pegs that hold the skin on, the colour of the timber and the saw marks are a good indicator that its modern) thats not to say it isn't saleable though Smiley Happy

It could be a Kuba drum. They come from Nigeria. They look similar to a Djembe but I think the djembes usually have their tuning cords running further down the side of the drum rather than the skin pulled tight on the pegs close to the top like you have there.
