Any ideas on the origin of these bookends?

I grew up with these bookends so they would be around 40 yrs old, possibly older. My brother has them now but sadly they are a bit knocked around. Actually they're broken in to about 6 pieces :_|

I've been searching for another pair for 15 years. My sister spotted these on ebay and they arrived today.

I'm so happy 😄

There is no makers mark, although the bottom has green felt on it so there could be a mark underneath.

The glaze has lumps and bumps in it.

I'm thinking japanese but I have no idea really.

I'm thinking Japanese and I'm thinking chipmunks and I'm thinking Japanese jumping on the Disney bandwagon.

Very pretty.

Very Japanese and as you said on the Disney bandwagon. If an inexperienced eye looks at them, they look roughly right. But not.

Japanese repro's. But cool if you collect them
