Hi, I've recently found a few pieces of pottery in my cupboard and have identified a couple of them but have no idea what pottery this came out of-wondering if anyone knows??
Thanks

Early Diana pottery jug. Early 1950's and a good glaze colour.

Thanks for that info-I'd almost given up hope-I probably wont use it as a gravy jug then!

Why not ?? Looks like that was what it has been used for previously.
It is a kitchen ware piece and very practical. It's not worth a fortune but not rubbish either.
It should be enjoyed for what it is...a good jug,

Yes good idea, I can remember my mother using it -so now I've found it I guess I should start to use it (along with everything else that's hidden in my cupboards)

It is over 60 years old now but not antique until it reaches 100 years. The best antiques are ones that are used with love and care and carry their purpose with them.
Not everything is made to be decorative but beautiful practical wares can be prized very highly.
I am a Diana pottery collector and lover and I like your jug a lot. I like it because it is well designed, a very attractive colour and glaze & it shows signs of use. The brown marks are gravy stains or similar and they do not put me off. They show me that it was enjoyed, served it's purpose and made it's user happy.
Think of your Mum next time you make a roast and the gravy will taste great,
