As in, does it have a specific purpose eg bread knife.  I know that's not what it would be used for, just an example.

It' another vintage piece, this time from my mother's estate.

Thank you all in advance.

Ah thank you! That would explain why I have no idea what it is. Haven't been able to have grapefruit for many years due to some medications I take.

Ok. Silly question time. Why would they have a grapefuit knife with cheese knives, or am Iwrong in thinking that they're a set?

The serrated knife might be a vegetable knife/ fruit knife - for soft-fleshed vegetables especially.

The 3 knives may not be a set as such. In the same range, yes, but it may not mean there were these three sold as a set.

But - but - they are just things - of no importance.

Passion - should be reserved for the ' important ' - no BRANDS - just that which is valuable.

What is valuable. ???

Well, I can’t buy back the life of the family member who died… and I can’t buy good health or eternal life… so while I maintain my love and appreciation for the people I love, and seek to live well and honourably and for as long as I can, it won’t stop me from enjoying the things that give me pleasure. (I hope. I did have a horrible period in my life during which nothing at all gave me enjoyment, and I’m glad to be out of that black space.)

So, back to knives. The ones I fancy (for kitchen use) are Tojiro Flash. They don’t need much pressure - wonderful balance and sharpness. (I have to be careful because of cervical radiculopathy; good knives essential.)

pnc, the more I look at that middle knife, the more I think “vegetable knife”. I may be wrong, but that’s my take on it. I think it’s too long a blade (and not curved enough) for a turning knife.

Thank you, contessa. So please you're feeling better, and yes I agree, life's too short to not enjoy the things we love.
