Just remembered I haven't told you about our Street party. The neighbours started to arrive at about 5.30, first one had her 3 children with her, no problem they had time for a run around and settle down before the next lot arrived. We finished up with 30 adults and 6 children, pretty good crowd. We had a variety of food and a fair amount of drinks, one of the men acted as barman and a couple of the guests and Neil passed the food round. I had set up on the top deck of the outdoor area but most of them congregated in the back yard, probably a good idea as it spread the noise out. The littlies finished up watching TV in the dining area, just had to keep an eye out that they didn't do any "touching". Everyone had gone by 9.30 and there was a minor clean up to be done. I still have 2 tupperware bowls and a fold up chair. Feed back has been good and one set of neighbours, and strangely enough the fella out of that couple didn't really want to be here, said that I had done such a good job that I could do it again next year - must have done something right.

Well, here I am again, with the good news and the bad news, good news first.
Flight Centre were having a sale on air fares so I thought I would have a look at fares to Christchurch, we were/are planning on going over in March. Managed to get an excellent price so did the booking and paying. Thought while I was in the "mood" I would do the accommodation and hire a car, did all that with a minimum of fuss and expense, all set and ready to go. We leave on March 2nd and come home on March 10th, Neil will shoot the National Titles while we are there. Might have a minor look at the ruined city but maybe not, would like to remember it as it was when we were there 2 years ago.
Now for the bad news, blow me down if they haven't just had more earthquakes, like 2 days ago, saw it on Google this morning, think it was 5,8, what a bummer, not just for me that is only a minor problem but all those poor people, they have had a very tough year, earthquakes, after shocks, snow, and just when it looked like it had all settled down and it is nearly Christmas, they have more earthquakes.
Don't know what else to say, I hope everyone is safe and that they all have somewhere that they can go and be with their families over the holiday period.

Glad your street party went off ok Wilma. I feel so sorry for those folks in Christchurch, they must all live in fear.
I never thought this Thread would still be here, it's good to have one for just chatting, catching up and getting the odd bit of advice.

Miss Linda, did you ever think when you started this thread asking me how Neil was, almost a year ago, that we would still be here. So many things have happened, we have laughed and cried, congratulated and commisserated, bought, sold, been on holiday, loved, lost, there is not much we haven't done except had an arguement.
Thank you for starting it and now it is up to the rest of us to keep it going.
Merry Christmas everyone, may we all still be here in 2012.
Wilma.

Hear! Hear! Wilma.
We had a good day today, nice lunch, Hannah and Chloe and Deakin are delightful kids, they make it a good day.
Wilma I hope you are not upset with me, but, I have sent Oscar to live with Hannah, he really was Les' and Han's dog, he was fretting. He has been there 2 days and has settled in nicely, Hannah thinks it's great.
Storms all night last and today, and thunder and lightening. Was a good Christmas for a hot dinner. Hope everyone got some pudding.
