Hi Lyndel,
You certainly have been through so much and i had noticed you were not around the boards very often.
I hadn't posted for a long time my-self, mainly lurking instead.
So sorry to hear about your mum passing. Hugs to you and your family.
Hopefully you will find the perfect place for Vic soon.
Thinking of you both often and sending kind wishes your way.
Leonie and Apple.

I'm really sorry to hear your news, Lyndel. May your dear Mum rest in peace.
I hope the nursing home situation sorts itself out really quickly. It must be really, really heartbreaking for you.
Come back and talk to us when you can
(((((Big Hugs)))))

thanks everyone for your replies. I'm holding up OK under pressure, making positive steps forward in the search for a new place for Vic was a bit panicked the first few days, but getting calmer.

Hi Lyndel, Sorry to hear about your Mother. I feel sure that you will find a place for Vic, takes a bit of doing sometimes, I went through the same thing with my in-laws, then one day it just all fell into place, guess I was in the right place at the right time. In the meantime they will keep him at Wantirna.
Take care
Wilma.

Christmas is getting off the ground with a bit of a bang, well my head is doing a bit of a bang. We had our Street party last night, shared a bottle of red with my neighbour, then started another one. Had a chat with the people who live in our courts, ate some delish food and was home by 8.30, a good night was had by all.

Sounds like fun Wilma, it's great that you share the Chtistmas spirit with your neighbours.

update __ found a lovely place for Vic just 1.1km away from home, so I can even walk there if I need to burn off a few calories. Settled him in on Tuesday, and all is fine so far, meeting with the Bank manager tomorrow to sort out the money side. It is so expensive, I know I have money now, but it has to last me, hopefully, for many years, and it is a minefield of where to put it and how to access it quickly etc.etc... monthly fees alone for Vic will be around $2,000. - let alone what I'm supposed to live off.
sheeeeeesh, glad we have at lest a bit of a nest egg behind us.
I'm having christmas day lunch with him, and then going up country for a couple of days rest at my g'friends, She and her hubby will look after me well.
Merry Christmas to all my eBay friends, hope to catch up with a few of you in the New Year.

Great news that Vic is so close to you. :-x
I know about the $$ problems, it's so difficult to know what to do with anything you have these days.
Have a lovely Christmas with Vic and then a well-deserved rest at your gf's. You really need it.
((Hugs))

Good News!
I'm really glad you're having a break, too. Put your feet up and do nothing for a little while.
All the best!
