How is everyone?

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes, flowers, thoughts, phone calls guff,  etc etc.  Much appreciated by both OH and myself.  I came home from hospital today and am sooooooo looking forward to a good night's sleep in my own bed without any sirens, buzzers, lift doors opening & closing, loos being flushed and people nattering on about insignificant stuff in the corridor.  Most of all I won't miss the food & the lukewarm YUK coffee.  Did lose about 2 kilos since last Thursday though.  Have had a nice snack of jatz & vintage cheese for lunch today and Rob will do some steamed veges ( his specialty ) for din-dins tonight - I think I will pass on the steak for the moment.  Will not be online as often as before because I will be resting horizontally for a few more days but I will be keeping an eye on everyone. ๐Ÿ˜‰

LOL LOL LOL have had quite a bit of horizontality over the last 3 days :^O  and am feeling much better for it.  No more symptoms of another pending 'stroke' so that's a good feeling.  OH is feeling better too.  We are both slowly getting back to more normal sleep patterns, I actually had 4 hours straight solid sleep from 3.00am this morning. weeeeeeeeeeheeee ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes Linda, I do think there has been a level of stress input from the road stuff.... going to have a long appt and natter with my GP and Specialist about this in the coming weeks ~~  when I am able to get there. Then will be having a chat with our financial advisers as I am seriously thinking about slowing down on the work front too.  Whilst I do absolutely love my job of 17 years, I don't need that sort of extra stress in my life right now - given my own probs AND that my niece (age 50yrs) has just undergone a mastectomy 2 weeks back following a recurrence & she now has further issues with a Stage 3 carcinoma to do with a muscle in her armpit - she starts chemo next week - plus OH's youngest daughter's SIL (age 38yrs) was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast carcinoma too and is currently undergoing chemo in an effort to reduce it BEFORE they will operate. :_|  The good news for both of those girls so far is that their CT scans and Nuc Med Bone Scans are totally clear.  YEEEHAAA.  We are all fighters & survivors!!  :-x

Keep you posted.

You are doing well Hynsie, that's great news.  Sounds like it is time to sow down a bit and enjoy life.

Just sent a week in Mebourne with little sister, my niece was in St Vincents Private Hospital, finally, after 15 years of illness, we may have a diagnosis for her.  She is going back to the Cardiac Ward in a few weeks so they can trial a drug on her that may help her.  She has limited mobility, mostly uses wheelchair, limited vision, and lots of other problems, so, this is a big thing for us all.

Hope there are no more ill folk around, tis the season, as they say

How is everyone?

Hi everyone, I have some good news, well I think it is good.  The plasterer has been and is finished, at present I have a nice young carpenter man, called Jesse, he is doing the woodwork, should be finished tonight I think he said.  I almost have a house again, well at least it has walls and doors.  The kitchen man has been and we have ordered the kitchen, should be here in 2-3 weeks, had to take the new sink back at change it, I had the drainer on the wrong side.  He didn't tell me he had moved the drawers for the cutlery and other bits, it is now on the left of the sink instead of the right.  Our carpenter spoke to a tiler that is sharing the rental house with him and the rest of the crew, he has offered to supply and fit all the tiles free of charge, that's right he will supply the tiles as well as putting them up.  Jesse thought we were going to retile the bathrooms and the laundry as well as the kitchen, big job, lots of tiles, but we are only going to do the kitchen walls where necessary. Can't believe how generous people have been towards us, beginning to wonder if they are seeing us as we really are - poor and fairly helpless!!!  We have also had all the power points, light switches, TV plugs and phone plugs given to us, complete with stainless covers  A firm in Sydney made the offer to flood victims, through the Salvation Army, sent the email Monday, had the goods Wednesday, including some extra that weren't on the list, like smoke detectors and quad power points and some solid stainless ones.  If all goes as planned, we should be back in the house in the middle of July, the painter is due first week in July, then we will need to get floor coverings and put the verticals up and start moving in.

Now is that a feel good story or not, certainly makes me feel good to tell you what has been happening. Was cooking fresh salmon for our dinner last night, asked our carpenter if he would like to stay and eat with us, he was almost speechless, gave him fish and chips with cheescake and ice cream for afters, don't think people usually do that for him.  He is a nice young man,  he works 11 hour days, 7 days a week, 4 weeks on and then hopefully he gets a week off, hell of a life for a young one.  He is also very good at what he does, can hang a door while I am thinking where the heck are the hinges going.

Will keep you posted.

oh Wilma! how nice that things are looking up. Agree with Linda completely.  There is so much good out in the community, and sadly not many people get to hear about it,the papers, news etc love to focus on the bad and the ''celebrities''.. when it is people like your tiler, carpenter, etc. that are the real ''Heros" not someone who drinks too much, or does drugs, and gets paid to play a sport or sing a song !!!!!!
