Well my son has been in Queensland for 10 days chasing hang gliders in a 4 wheel drive. And he has come back a changed young man. I am so happy for him and his confidence is boosted. He had a huge panic attack about going just before he left, So I gave him some medication and said you will regret it if you don't go. His dad literally pushed him into the car.
and we felt sick for two days thinking what have we done. the best thing he said when he got back last night was "I am so glad you made me go mum" I used to tell parents when i was working with mentally ill teens. Its easy doing easy stuff. but tough love , love that means making tough decisions because its in your kids best interest is all part of the parenting deal. So hb and I had to make a tough decision and I am glad I followed my own advice,.

OH is harvesting today so that means I'm busy in the kitchen "doing things" with stuff.... filling orders from family for home cooked/pickled beetroot plus doing some for us too, and have a heap of carrots & parsnips to deal with to freeze for us.

Photobucket

Also have leeks, spring onions, more beetroot, beans, silverbeet, capsicum, cabbage & tommy-tomatoes yet to pick, pack and take to in to my work tomorrow to fill their orders. I'm on 2 weeks leave but going in for Melbourne Cup Day and for the first time in over 12 years I am NOT running the Sweeps.

No rest for the wicked as the saying goes :^O so had best get to it.

Happy 8th Birthday to Dolly's big baby. ๐Ÿ˜„

Lee, how good that your son has appreciated your advice. Not often that happens eh?

Congrats to Neil on his great shooting last weekend.

You've been busy with all those veges Hynes!

Today is our day 'off' and we're getting little madam from 11am as her mum got called into work. ๐Ÿ˜ž Also, it's raining here so no chance of going outside today which she loves. Hopefully she'll have a BIG sleep instead. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Her latest trick is pushing chairs around and climbing on them to get up higher to tables and cupboards. She is SO like her mother it isn't funny. Then she gives you a smile and you can't help but love her. The terrible twos are on their way. :_|

Hi, Bit P'd off at present, have just been outbid, well and truly, on a pair of Darbyshire Kooka salt and peppers, would have liked them for the kooka collection.
However, I have just returned from shopping with 3 pairs of shoes, 2 red, 1 pewter and for less than $250 all up, Comfoot Shoes was having a sale, picked up my scripts and a few groceries. also managed lovely red seedles grapes from the US for $8.99 a kilo, yummo love grapes. Didn't buy too many as we are going away in the morning, Brisbane this time. There is a 2 day shoot at Caboolture, will stay with Neil's sister and BIL in Redcliffe, down tomorrow and home on Monday.
Have to call in and do another inspection of the carnival glass collection we looked at a few weeks ago, might need a few more pieces and the Carlton Ware needs another look at.
I will return.

Wilma.

I am so sorry to hear that Les has to use a wheel chair, guess he will have to reprogramme the GPS to cover the new mode of transport. Young Oscar will be pleased to have him out in the yard, some playing and much ball throwing coming up. Say hello for me please.

(((((Heartfelt hugs to all that need them.)))))

It's so hard to say how one feels towards others that are battling with illness. I just hope that everyone learns to cope.

I have two cancers on my left leg. One on my calf, one on my thigh. Both of them different in shape and size. For the time Dr. has put me on Antibiotics, but they have not changed anything, just make very sleepy. Next Wednesday they will do some biopsy tests. At the moment I don't know what results will be and how much they will have to cut away.

I try not to think about it and keep busy. There is always someone worse off than I.

Wima, I too love grapes and cherries. Can eat them by the Kg if the price is right. :^O Lucky Peter does not like fruit very much, so there is always plenty for me to gorge on. ๐Ÿ˜‰

On Saturday I will be going to a Garage Sale in a very small country town not far from us. There are only farmers there, some of them quite old. Perhaps one of them is selling up?
Keep your fingers crossed for me to find some nice bargains. ๐Ÿ˜„
