Happy New Year folks, hope we can use this Thread for the occasional chat.
I have been thinking about Lyndel, hope she is ok, it's a big change she and Vic are going through.
It's been so hot here, so many days over 40, and we have a new colour on the weather map, now, that's scary. Elvis was here for a few days, but he has left the building and is back in Melbourne.LOL
Tim, I hope you were not near the fires.

Miss Linda Numerous Elvii have been here since Tuesday and won't be leaving until Sunday!

hi Linda, we're doing OK.
Vic is settling in, he's not real happy there but understands why he needs to be there.
Saw his oncologist this week (that was a 'treat' (not) going to the Austin in an ambulance just for an outpatient visit).
they will not be doing further MRI brain scans, really no further treatments, other than his tablets, they can give him.
pretty sad day.
I'm trying to get used to living alone, it's hard isn't it, made harder with no family around too.
little Miss LJ will be here at the end of the month for a week's holiday before Term 1 starts again.

(((((Big Hugs))))) Lyndel
Hang in there the best you can :-x

It is hard Lyndel, especially since you have no family there. LJ will cheer you both up. I reckon you will be feeling powerless at the moment, but, you hang in there girl.

Tomorrow Ned's family are having a Funeral Service in Wang, and, on Sunday, Ned will finally be burried with his family, I would like to think the press would give the some privacy but, reckon it will be a circus..

Had a quiet moment of reflection today for Ned's service... must have been the memory cells activating cos I am very distantly related to Steve Hart .... supposedly / allegedly LOL.

Hi everyone. ๐
Lyndel, I hope you enjoy your week with LJ, she will certainly brighten up your life a bit and Vic's too I hope. I think of you often, hang in there. :-x
I read an historical novel last year - True History of the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey. A really good read based on letters and other known facts. I hope they let Ned rest in peace now with his family as it's all he wanted.
Not long now till my new grandson makes his arrival. He's due on 4th Feb but doc doesn't think he'll see my daughter next week for her visit. Zara isn't real happy as furniture is moved from her room to the baby's room. I think daughter will have her work cut out as Zara is SO like her mother in many ways. ]:) What's that quote about karma? :^O Zara does love 'her' Sean so will be a good help but maybe a little over-affectionate!!
On 29th I'm having surgery for a torn left rotator cuff. I've been in pain for some years but no cause could be found. The past couple of years it's got much worse so I finally went to a specialist and bingo! Not looking forward to it, especially as I'll be in a sling for six weeks with a padded support. Full recovery is supposed to take between 6-12 months so a long way to go. I questioned the doc as to why my left shoulder is faulty and he just said it was wear and tear but I'm right handed?? I personally believe it's from carrying the grandchildren which I tend to do with my left arm. :_| I can't look after Sean while in a sling so his other grandfather is coming up from Tassie to mind him for that time. Taking the six weeks off my school job too which will be nice as it's a stressful place to work. ๐
