Rolex made 2 quartz models over a 10 year period ending in 2001: the Rolex QuartzDate and OysterQuartz. only about 20,000 quartz Rolexes were made during that 10 year period, making it one of the rarest regular-production Rolexes.
if you search the word "OysterQuartz", you can find lots of good info by googling . I personally think fake . If you do take the back off , these pictures may be helpful as they show genuine movements

well a genuine caseback requires something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Adjustable-Case-Back-Opener-Wrench-for-Watch-Repair-Tool-Kit-Box-/271...
if it is the snap off/on type the question is already answered in the negative anyway

Ok Thanks lakeland, they are snap on backs & this is what they look like inside.
So definitely FAKE yeah ?

Definitely. and exactly as Copenhagen said a japanese myota quartz movement,
there are so many fakes a genuine watch is the exception. They must be one of the most faked items of all time
i have at least 4 , and one genuine watch .
a few years ago someone put one in my hand and asked what i would offer. i said 'its fake' before i even looked at it.. the chaps face turned to thunder and he began hurling all kinds of abuse at me ''you haven't even looked at it'' (with expletives)
i went on to say to him that i could feel rough edges on the case and bracelet and a genuine watch is all hand finished without rough edges anywhere and it was too light anyway , there was no need to look further.. i suggested asking the jeweller down the road and he stormed off. later the same day he wandered back in and handed me the watch saying "keep it'' and walked out again
