Beware,

the same fake 1938 crown coins are sold again for rediculous prices to unsuspected buyers.

One seller seems to make a sale almost every week, and nothing is done about it. They get caught, and just start a new account under an other name.

Even on Google eBay is accused for selling fake coins.

I was caught last year buying a fake, and lost my money.  Then the seller threatened me,saying: "I know where you live..."

However is there some reason why you are not using the eBay Money Back Guarantee to obtain refunds?

As tuck suggests and you have 180 days to open a case in PayPal.

I suspect the answer can be found here.

"Then the seller threatened me,saying: "I know where you live...""

I was once warned against leaving poor Feedback or opening a case by a seller who used much the same words. I was sufficiently intimidated not to do either; I considered the money lost was not worth the nastiness. There are some very unpleasant people out there, and unfortunately some of them are on eBay. It is obvious that possible sanctions from eBay mean nothing to them. As the OP says they just start up again. All one can do is avoid them in the future. Fortunately the vast majority of eBay experiences are happy ones (otherwise we all would have left long ago).

Most 1938 crowns on Ebay are fake. Many 1937 crowns are fake too. Generally you won't be able to tell a fake by sight and anyhow most sellers won't send you the coin actually shown in the photo. When testing for real crowns (1) they are 92.5% silver on Xray; (2) their weight is very precise 28.27-28.29 grams; (3) they are 10.36-10.37 g/cm3 if testing specific gravity at home; (4) contrary to popular belief, real crowns are actually very slightly magnetic with a neodymium magnet.
