vintage GWS rins-an-dry 1949 with instruction booklet VGC market?

an elderly friend has a GWS (Grenfall W Smith) rins-an-dry trademarked 1949 with instruction booklet etc which was in working order when last used.... has offered it to museums etc who already had one.

I'd offered to sell it for her, saw one on gumtree that does not sound as in as good cond, not sure where / how to market as it is heavy but am sure in this condition would be collectable.

any hints how to sell for her and/or find a suitable collector?

I should have photos shortly if thats of any assistance.

thanks

Well I know we used to have one (or something similar) when I was growing up in the 1950's.

But that's all I know. Because while it may be collectable it is sure to be very heavy and not easy to move. So ideally I would think the selling point would be at some second-hand market or fair where someone who has the necessary transport would fall in love with it and take it away. But would it be worth the effort to get it there??? The one on Gumtree has been there 9 months for $50 and presumably has not had a worthwhile offer. I go to auctions every weekend and see things like vintage dining room suites, lounge suites and pianos fail to make $50. If this does have a collector base, it is sure to be a very small one - how to tap into it (and whether it would be worth it) would be the challenge. I know vintage caravan folk are susceptible to collecting 50's impedimenta / equipment but surely they wouldn't need one of these. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along.

Actually I was looking for a distraction. In the midst of listing postcards to eBay - fairly mind-numbing Smiley Very Happy

I can imagine Siddies, pretty repetitive

whoops signed in other id again.  Anyways spoke to my friend, managing her expectations of what she could/would sell it for and posted on gumtree.  It is in better cond, with more parts, booklets etc than the item you mentioned and perhaps there will be a local who is interested.  Its under the house and will forget about it until I receive an enquiry.  Not as heavy as I thought but I wouldn't be posting it!  any old french postcards?  if yes do message me..!
