Deceptive practice?

I LOVE eBay and have recently published a booklet outlining the value of purchasing from eBay's independent sellers. Recently however I have received items that have Amazon packaging and advertising, and other features associated with Amazon. There was absolutely no indication that this was who I was buying from and I would not have purchased them had I known. Any suggestions on how to buy from eBay and get around the lack of transparency?

Deceptive practice?

Was that from the seller in the UK with the awful, awful feedback?

I hope your book also mentions that you enjoy buying from sellers with shocking feedback?

I'm not sure they are drop shipping, the items I have received that look like they are from Amazon appear to be from sellers that sell the same items on Amazon and eBay.

The fact that the items are delivered, sometimes, the day after an ebay purchase is why I don't think they are being drop shipped.

It doesn't really bother me so long as I am buying at the cheapest price. I check both Amazon and eBay before buying.

from the previous link:

Sellers must not:

  • Fulfil orders via a third-party service when the above conditions are not met. For example, the Fulfilment by Amazon service does not satisfy the third-party fulfilment conditions under this policy
  • List an item on eBay and then purchase the item from another retailer or marketplace that sends it directly to the customer – this includes presale listings
  • Misrepresent the location of their stock, as this violates our Item location policy

But what is not clear from OP's post is.  Did it come direct from amazon, or via the seller.

Sure it may have had all the amazon rubbish on it,  but the seller may have purchased it from amazon weeks ago,  had it sitting in their stock, than on forwarded it on the sale to OP, without removing all the Amazon guff.

Not saying that is the case, but it is possible, Some clarification is required from OP.
