1 death and 2 maulings in 3 weeks

An 82 year old woman going for  a stroll with her husband and 2 staffy/mastiff crosses burst through their front door to attack.

She is in hospital with severe heard injuries.

Our council does doorknocks regularly to check if you have dogs that are registered or not.

I know they do it because thsy have come to my door and asked for details.

So, I am stunned, as to how 1 street away, someone has a known pit bull x unregistered, despite having been reported for biting.

Our councils do too Az so would it be too hard to check adequate fencing while he's there?

Round and round in circles too, people feel the need to protect themselves,their families and their property so they buy a dog they feel capable of doing this!
I dont think my girls would attack an intruder, we had a shed fire, I came home to 5 firefighters and two police officers in my home, where were my girls? Hiding, the officers didn't even know they were there! Lol

There is a law in place for violent crimes already. It is legislated. If someone breaks the law they are dealt with. To combat this we have police who have powers to take action and a judicial system that deals with it.

There is no law in place for these animals.

I can honestly say I wouldn't trust Lexi (Lab) should anyone enter my home uninvited, or jump the fence. Now Labs are recommended family dogs, which she is, but she is protective.

At 3am this morning there was a knock at the door, right address wrong name I was informed through the glass side panel. Lexi made sure they knew they were not welcome and I was relieved as I was home alone. Now Toby, well he'd invite anyone in and hope they stay.

I know people will believe what they want to about my Staffy's but I really don't know of any other breed that would let a vet sew up her partially severed Acl, muscle and skin with nothing more than a local anaesthetic. No muzzle and just me acting as vet nurse! Even the vet doing the job was amazed! Good girl saved me thousands! 🙂

Just my dog, I'd say but if the people who want new laws passed my dogs will be in the firing line, that's just not fair! AND why should I never be allowed to own this breed again because of a few people who don't train, socialise or keep controls of their dogs?
