101 Things To Do when your Self Isolating

I'm doing ok, I guess.  Health has taken a tumble.

Only cos I'm old.  Need a wheelchair if any distance is required for walking.

I've thought of your boy often over the years.

My youngest grandchild has Asperger's.

Brilliant mind, but struggles with the social norm.

He was reading books to the year 6 class when he was in Prep.

As he grows he's getting much better at life though.  He's 13.

His new high school teacher is astounded at his knowledge.

Your grandson sounds like he is doing well but I understand that his struggles are still a worry for you. 13, eh?

At that age I found that Air Cadets, Boys Brigade, Choir and Band helped their social skills - particularly big fella. He also gained a lot of benefit from Musical Theatre too. He did that outside of school and the school musicals as well.

Another thing that helped him was a few of the Trinity of London courses (similar to AMEB for music but Trinity allows consideration for disabilities).

He did Communication Skills right through to Licientate level - as the name suggests he learned all sorts of communication and social skills - he must have done that for 9 odd years?

I think he also benefited from their Speech and Drama Stream and the Musical Theatre one.

He also did their Shakespeare stream through to Licientate but I think that was more enjoyment than socially beneficial or developmental.

Any team activity develops their social skills development from sports to choir, they're all good.

When my fella got to uni, his whole world changed for him - he didn't stick out anymore - heaps of kids were just like him (electrical engineering) and he found so many like minded peers to befriend.

@Stawks - I meant to say I am so sorry to hear about your declining health. Is it just a temporary thing or reversible? Do you have adequate support?

I reckon there'd be a few advantages to a wheelchair, eh?

โ€ข killer work out for your arms lol
โ€ข if you have to queue somewhere you've got a seat
โ€ข you don't get abused if you take those special parks close to shops...
โ€ข if you've got a friend whose also in a wheelchair you could have some doozy races!
โ€ข you wouldn't have to iron your clothes as often cod hey, if you're sitting down all day, they're just going to get crushed anyway...
โ€ข your shoes will last longer
โ€ข if someone **bleep** you off you can "accidentally" run over their feet or slam into their shins with your wheelchair.
โ€ข as a grandma, you have a ready made, continually accessible lap - good for spontaneous hugs and snuggles.
โ€ข Front row seating at movie theatres and Strip Clubs *cheeky grin*
โ€ขpriority access on planes and other public transport.
โ€ข eyes always at crotch level of good looking blokes. *smirks*

That's a few..

I like your thinking there, Crikey.

Not reversible.  A triple whammy of osteo arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout.

(Gout is not caused by drinking booze....although smiley-girl-thinking_189938955.gif)   It's a form of arthritis.

I can't stand for a long time.

I went away for the weekend and froze, is what Dom's on about.

I decided to tune myself up

Eyes

Two Cyst removals, recently recovered from the last one on my back.

Prostate test, for peace of mind. etc

Nothing crippling. That cyst on my back was somewhat annoying. I feel like a re-newed person now.

Signatures suck.
