I hope you are all rejoicing about the 400 a day North Africans who are flooding into Italy. The Italians had the grisley job of removing dead people after they tried to get up on deck to stop from suffocating below deck but were hacked and murdered an many thrown overboard.
Yes, lets call MP Morrison "M..d..er Morrison" and lets dance on the graves of the deaths that will befall desperate immigrants at the hands of each other.

It's nice to see some compassion for others???(why would anyone hope people were rejoicing ) although I don't see what your post has to do with Australias asylum seeker policy?

It is being done while the minds of the public are on events in the Netherlands and Ukraine, hoping we will not notice.
Just what we need, more of this.
Asylum seekers: Many children on Christmas Island reportedly sick and distressed, wetting the bed, having flashbacks
The Australian Human Rights Commission says it holds "grave concerns" for the welfare of asylum seekers, particularly mothers and children, on Christmas Island.

I'm not sure I would be drawing comparisons to the Italians as they have a very open, welcoming and compassionate response to asylum seekers generally.
Makes us look like hillbilly rednecks.

maybe it was a post about morrisons raising the risk of torture threshold from 10% to 50%, you know as morrison, abbott and their supporters are soooo worried about asylum seekers dying while seeking asylum.

So we expect the more over populated and less wealthy country, India, to take people in that we refuse. Something just doesn't sound right about that. Australia can afford to take asylum seekers more than India. Is this govt trying to reintroduce the white Australia policy by any chance?
What makes me mad is that so many of the nasty mean members of the coalition are from migrant backgrounds and came here for the better life. It's a bit of a puzzle why they then get mean and go into politics in an attampt to change that lifestyle and community they came here to enjoy. They want to punish pensioners who worked before the super system of today was introduced. If they like the USA way better why did they not migrate there instead?

You know, I notice that a lot, that immigrants seem to be the most against asylum seekers. It is very strange.

If the passengers are brought to the Australian mainland, lawyers say it casts doubt over whether core elements of the High Court challenge can proceed before the court.
The case was to be the first comprehensive test of whether the government has the power to intercept boats on the high seas.
The case, which was due to continue on August 5, would have also tested whether the Australian government had the right to hold asylum seekers against their will and take them where it chooses.
"The situation remains very unclear, but if people were bought to the mainland, this would clearly involve the government conceding on key aspects of the High Court challenge," human rights lawyer David Manne said.
so Morrison is indeed a 'spectacular failure' in many respects

We can thank him for making a celebrity of Lara Bingle. I'm not sure if that would count as a fail or what.
