$180 per day up to $1800 - some of our senators can afford not to do it. It's never bothered me before doing a census, but this time it seems too be going to far, I'm not comfortable with it

What annoys me is that they keep saying that your information is safe and there will be no cross referencing with other government agencies but they will fine you $180 per day if you do not provide the correct information.
How do they know the information is not correct if they have not cross referenced it?
I am also concerned that all identifying information is going to be kept...in previous years it was destroyed as soon as the data had been entered.

On a very cold rainy day in Perth, suffering terminal boredom because it is a day I dont work and it is just too cold to go for a walk outside, or ANYTHING outside...
I did our census form last weekend on line, as everything was likely to be the same as long as one of us didn't (not)suffer a sudden death episode during the interim 3 days...
Amidst all this talk of privacy being compromised......hells bells, I am just not THAT interesting, nor is my husband. We fall into the strictly medicore category for most things...
And for any poor individual who at some future time may be charged with collecting statistics from people like us from these forms....
Well, commiserations and I hope life gets better for you.
So much cross referencing betwen government departments already, why worry? Much ado about nothing....
