"liberal candidate Fiona Scott believes she understands why people in such a fast-growing area think asylum seekers are such a hot topic.
JANINE COHEN: that's a pretty hot topic, isn't it, asylum seekers ?
FIONA SCOTT: well, yeah, it's a hot topic here, but it's a hot topic here, because our traffic is overcrowded, i mean, you guys have been here for a few days now, I mean how much fun is the M4, in peak hour, it's not fun at all, and you imagine a mum, you know it's a classic example, trying to be back for a six o'clock pick-up from day care, and every minute you're late, you're getting charged, now you multiply that by a couple a kids, it means that when you think of over-crowding it becomes an issue for people. it really does.
JANINE COHEN: so you mention asylum-seekers and overcrowding. i don't quite get the connection
FIONA SCOTT: well, my recommendation is go and sit in the Emergency Department of Nepean Hospital,or go and sit on the M4, and people see 50,000 people come by boat, and that's more than twice the population of glenmore park, where we just were ...

I left Sydney in 1978 becuase living out north west meant it took me several hours to get to work in the city by car and then parking cost me a small fortune. I used to read newspapers on the way as it took average 3 changes of lights to get through each intersection from about North Ryde on, and I was not driving exactly in peak hour, aiming to get to the city at about 10am. On days I did not need the car I would drive either to Blacktown or Wahroonga, it was about 15km which ever way, and then got on the train, but it was also long trip.
One day I needed to pick up somebody from the airport at 7am and it took me 3 hours to get there. That was long time before M4.
Silly me I did not realise it was all the boat people who caused it!!!! Nobody told us in those times.

no risk, abbrot's mob are keepin' their new candidates quiet.
abbrott and bishop in western suburbs today with overcrowded scott, who kept the mouth firmly shut, i read.
jaymez diaz won't talk.
in newcastle today, candidate jaimie abbott refused to take part in vote compass
new ones can't be trusted to speak freely, it would appear.
