A Syrian reminder.

As many on here seem to think that the conflict in Syria is a Muslim versus the West war, I thought I would post a reminder that the majority of dead in this war are Muslims at the hands of a crazy army who seems to have declared war on everything especially their own people.

The uprising started because a small minority group came to power and targeted not only other minority groups (westerners, syrian christians, kurds etc) but also targeted the Sunni who make up the majority of the population in Syria.

This is a civil war. It is not a jihad. It is not a terrorist operative against the west directly.

I would also like to point out (for those who believe that halal labels fund terrorism) that I.S. is funded almost entirely by selling crude oil. So if you are really concerned about how terrorism is funded, then I suggest you stop filling up th gas tank.

if you truly believe that then you need

to do some research about  IS(IS) / ISIL  finances.

In light of the halal thread, I did.

Or don't tell me you believe that halal sticky labels on Australian chocolate pays for IS guns?

Just my two cents.

ISIS/ISIL in my opinion is not muslim. Yes it is manpowered by people who claim they are muslim.

These people (term used loosely) are carrying out their psychopathic murderous business under the pretext of fighting for islam.

They are murderous psycopaths who have formed a death by torture cult. If there is a Satan (christian term) or whatever muslims refer to as satan, these people (loose term) are the followers.

I would truly like to see Christians, muslims, atheists, agnostics etc, unite as one force to clean the pond.

What is the significance of your last sentence?

From the koran..."This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil)."

So the muslims in Iraq and Syria currently dispensing battue after having read the koran consider themselves to be right.

I have read the koran and cannot find any reference to 'moderate muslims' or 'radical muslims'. Can you inform the debate about where in the koran that taxonomy is dealt with.

Or perhaps you would like to enlighten me with some facts?

Again you are making little sense. Where have I mentioned that the koran talks about radical or moderate muslims?

Or are you implying that all muslims are violent because the koran has some passages (taken out of context by extremists) that encourage violence?

And I will be so disappointed if the latter is what you are implying because, of course, the same could be said of the Bible. So we know that the "koran asks muslims to kill there, fore all muslims are murderers" ideology is bunkum.

It's a case of muslims killing muslims. They all (muslims) read the same owners' manual don't forget.

Christians also read from the same "owners manual"

That doesn't stop some who call themselves Christians from burning down abortion clinics or picketting funerals with placcards saying "God Hates **bleep**s."

It didn't stop Protestant and Catholic armies from slaughtering each other all over Europe during the 30 years war.

It didn't stop the massacre of the Cathars in the 13th century .

It didn't stop the Inquisition.

The Old Testament - which is shared by Christians, Jews and Muslims is one of the most bloodthirsty books ever written and can be used selectively to justify almost anyact of collective  brutality

Didn't stop him either, killing so many progressive young people.

On 22 July 2011, Breivik set off a car bomb near government buildings in Oslo, killing eight, and then massacred 69 participants in a Labour Party youth camp on the nearby island of Utoeya.
