A Syrian reminder.

As many on here seem to think that the conflict in Syria is a Muslim versus the West war, I thought I would post a reminder that the majority of dead in this war are Muslims at the hands of a crazy army who seems to have declared war on everything especially their own people.

The uprising started because a small minority group came to power and targeted not only other minority groups (westerners, syrian christians, kurds etc) but also targeted the Sunni who make up the majority of the population in Syria.

This is a civil war. It is not a jihad. It is not a terrorist operative against the west directly.

I would also like to point out (for those who believe that halal labels fund terrorism) that I.S. is funded almost entirely by selling crude oil. So if you are really concerned about how terrorism is funded, then I suggest you stop filling up th gas tank.

Didn't stop him either, killing so many progressive young people.

On 22 July 2011, Breivik set off a car bomb near government buildings in Oslo, killing eight, and then massacred 69 participants in a Labour Party youth camp on the nearby island of Utoeya.

So you are equating a lone madman to the bloodbath and mass murders we are seeing from isil??

No, I did not, you're altering the intent of the comment to suit your own agenda.

I don't have an agenda but I'm interested to hear your views on how you think I have one.

It's a case of muslims killing muslims. They all (muslims) read the same owners' manual don't forget.

Christians also read from the same "owners manual"

That doesn't stop some who call themselves Christians from burning down abortion clinics or picketting funerals with placcards saying "God Hates **bleep**s."

It didn't stop Protestant and Catholic armies from slaughtering each other all over Europe during the 30 years war.

It didn't stop the massacre of the Cathars in the 13th century .

It didn't stop the Inquisition.

The Old Testament - which is shared by Christians, Jews and Muslims is one of the most bloodthirsty books ever written and can be used selectively to justify almost anyact of collective  brutality

I agree.

Again you are making little sense. Where have I mentioned that the koran talks about radical or moderate muslims?

Or are you implying that all muslims are violent because the koran has some passages (taken out of context by extremists) that encourage violence?

And I will be so disappointed if the latter is what you are implying because, of course, the same could be said of the Bible. So we know that the "koran asks muslims to kill there, fore all muslims are murderers" ideology is bunkum.

You did say that ISIS is not comprised muslims. That is news to it because ISIS is seeking to establish the dream of all muslims: a caliphate. A world viewed through the prism of manichaeism. The sanguinary nature of ISIS relies on the Koran to sanctify its actions.

The Koran is the irrefutable, pure, inimitable and immutable word from Allah therefore it can’t be taken out of context. Allah is the most perfect god incapable of error or mistake so his book can fall open at any page and it must make perfect sense.

Muslims killing muslims is approved in the Koran:

Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. (58:22)

What does the above mean? A muslim is free to take from it what he believes it to mean and he will be correct. To ISIS it means that anyone who doesn’t bear the zebibah, the sign of devoutness, is a person who resists allah.

If you believe that ISIS is not comprised muslims has ISIS contacted you regarding advice on how it should describe itself?

We cant Az, especially when we are fed reports of "supposed" and "purported" events that have taken place.  The only way we can be absolutely sure is if we can see it with our own eyes.  Just because  half a dozen mainstream outlets say it happened doesn't necessarily mean it's the truth.
