A question for those from Brisbane please

My 12 year old daughter and I are going to the Gold Coast for a few dates and also seeing One Direction in Brisbane.

I have not been to Brisbane since 1987 and that was only for a few days and I have no idea of my way around or where anything is.

I will hire a small car to get around

Can anyone suggest some accommodation within walking distance from the stadium ? And somewhere I can get to with reasonable ease in a strange city and that has parking

Or somewhere I can find accommodation and easily get a taxi without a expensive cost. As I have no idea about public transport in Brisbane and don't want to be trying to find my way about late at night

Public transport is easy in Brisbane. We have chosen to stay in the CBD and within walking distance to Central Station.
Will let you know how it goes tomorrow, but the lady in the translink booth recommended the train to the Entertainment Centre. And i am sure there are waay more transport options to Suncorp Stadium AND free.

I recieved an email today from the Entertainment Centre with an advise on transport, parking, arrival times and eating options.

' PARKING: Parking is charged at $15.00 per visit which is payable to the car park attendants on entry (cash only). To minimise delays we suggest patrons share vehicles with friends or use the Queensland Rail service.

I dont think you need a hire car in Brisbane. The Gold Coast is easily accessible by train ( Airtrain to city free for kids 14 and under, not relevant for you but good to know ! ) and if you can stay in the cbd you can get anywhere easily. As a visitor, I have found that Brissie is really easy to get around. I still dont understand why the Brisbane Entertainment Centre is out in the burbs tho 🐶

Entertainment Centre by train was easy peasy, no need for a compass 

Recommended. Concert was amazing. Paul Simon even shorter than I knew he was, brilliant.

Stings ( had a beard and thought he was part of the crew at first!) voice more amazing than I knew it was.Powerful.
