So I found this plate, it was under a pot plant and it was black with indoor plant fertiliser, I was about to chuck it but when I looked underneath it was a numbered Franklin Mint plate called Purrfection.
I ran it under water and soaked it and it came clean! Mostly.
I feel like I've found a treasure, it was so black with plant fertiliser it looked rusty. I thought it would never come clean. But it has a black ring around the edge from dried plant fertiliser I've been soaking it and very gently trying to pick the black stuff off.
Any tips on how I could gently clean it?
Thanks

you can also try toothpaste as well, gumption is good but no good for cleaning china with.

Soak it in water with a denture tablet - that's my standard clean for antique porcelains.
