The agenda for this months meeting of the Liberal party in melbourne includes the discussion topic of selling off the ABC and SBS. Why is this fervour for selling off public broadcasters suddenly on the agenda ?
do they fear the minutest amount of honest broadcasting, and do they think it a better media environment for them will exist if nobody out there is in any position to criticise ? its not as if the ABC are backing the other side of politics .. if anything the ABC has a distinct conservative tone to its news and current affairs programs these days.
So much for all the breast-beating around 'freedom of the press'
selling the public broadcasters is suppressing such freedoms surely ?

As these pollies are really only caretakers of our public asset's I don't understand how they can sell them off for a quick $
They are not theirs to sell
That didn't stop them in the past, they have sold the gold, Telstra, Comm Bank, Qantas and airports already.

Anyone got a link to where the Liberals will sell Australia Post? How about a link where the Liberals say they will sell off the ABC and SBS.
Don't you know how to search for info on the internet?

Yes I know they have, I don't believe they have the right to sell the countries asset's and pay themselves well for plundering our assets

there is something wrong with that picture isn't there. Bet we're kicking ourselves for selling the gold so cheaply.

Obviously not as well as an intellectual giant such as yourself karliandjacko. Please help a poor boy out and post a link to your claim of" the Liberals will sell Australia Post". I used google but found nothing.

Since when has the ABC been an asset? I'm not talking about content, I'm talking about profit rather than loss.

It clearly has a value or it couldn't be sold ๐

The license to broadcast is worth something. But there are no returns for what's pumped into it.

Why did you post a link to my profile?
There is no need for that. Would you delete that post please.
