I'm with the AFL on this one.

If a company wants to make TH t-shirts then they have a multitude of pics to choose from.

But this seems as they want to ride the back of an over rated media sensation in which there is division.

That can only potentially create controversy and conflict, not to mention being opportunistic of the seller.

Plus, did they ask TH ?, because I'm pretty sure she would have said - "find another pic".

Now that I think about it, the AFL may have consulted TH and made their decision easier if TH said NO.

if they had used the actual photo i'd agree, but a drawn likeness, no way.

the AFL does not own the rights to a drawn likeness of a football player, male or female.

does this mean anything resembling an australian football player is off limits?

thats like saying if they drew a car on a T-shirt the car companys could stop em selling their shirts.

this was not a picture, it was a drawn likeness. in fact anyone not knowing about the incident and the player when shown that t shirt design would likely say 'i have no idea who that is, is it a football player?' could be a soccer player, or a rugby player.

btw, its not like the company was doing it for profit, the money was going to charity, pretty sad really when the mighty $ stops a guy from doing something nice.

More importantly, what does Scott Morrison think of this?

I would've thought she owned her own image, and had a say - no-one else.

Just sayin'

What is the AFL going to do about the other T-shirt which says "Yes to Goals - No to Trolls"?

It is a custom made one - I could make one if I wanted to but then again, I am not going to sell them, I could just give them away.

The AFL are too full of themselves and it really is "for the boys".

AFL - get a life!
