I guess these greedy people earning under $37,000 won't be buying Flatsceen Tv's, cigarettes and cartons of beer come tax time
As a Galaxy poll shows 62 per cent of women harbour concerns over the Opposition leader, Australia's peak welfare body and Labor are targeting Mr Abbott over the $800 million savings measure.
The Coalition plans to scrap the $500 co-contribution for workers earning less than $37,000, a move that will affect thousands of women in some of the country's most marginal seats.
In western Sydney, around 25,000 women will lose the benefit in the Labor-held seats of Lindsay and Greenway, while nearly 13,000 low-paid women in the Victorian regional seat of Corangamite, held by Labor's Darren Cheesman, will also miss out.
Brisbane, one of the Liberals' most marginal electorates, also has a high number of working women, around 15,000, who stand to lose the $500 payment.
The Gillard Government hopes that Mr Abbott's negative standing with many women will allow it to "sandbag" crucial marginal seats at the September 14 poll.
Around 60 per cent, or 2.1 million, of the 3.6 million workers hit by the Coalition super policy are women, and female workers generally hold around 50 per cent of the total super savings held by men.

What's with the highlighting of women? Plenty of men earn under $37,000.
Only a 60/40 split, yet they twist it as a targeting women thing.
Oh that's right, Gillard supporters are still riding the gender wave as one of their few attack points.

it says more about the gullibility of Australians. he talks of a 'great big new tax' and then takes away much more. and they are still too daft to get it.

Well of course it does lol. That's surely why Ms Gillard staged the misogynist thing. To garner the women's vote.
Oh the games we play :^O

You might have missed the highlighting yesterday of Tony's proud wave of support from female voters.
All through the news?
I think it has something to do with the fact that the US elections were won with the help of female voters.
Anyone got a photo of Tony posing with an all female household?

The Labor Govt were introduced recently the refund of the 15% contribution tax to low income earners as a concession for them lowering the $1000 super contribution rebate ( co-contribution $1 for $1) to $500.
Now there is going to be neither?X-(
High income earners can still put their super contributions in at 15% tax saving them around 30% (if their tax rate is 45%) though.
That sounds fair - not.

Either you agree with the tax free threshold or you don't, forget the rest. Lower income workers are better off with the current threshold, FACT.

Far from decreasing taxes and increasing retirement savings of Australians, the Abbott Coalition will go into the election opposing the Low Income Superannuation Contribution while also opposing Labor's policy to raise the Superannuation Guarantee from 9 to 12 per cent.
Nuff said, abbot clearly states he is going to take from the low income earners..............in typical Liberal fashion
