I volunteer at a regional gallery and get to meet some wonderful, weird and wacky people.
But the ones that get up my goat are the ones who say "That looks like something a 5 year old would do." and expect me to agree with them.
And whilst we have a lot of community exhibitions that are amateurish enough (so perhaps the comment may be fair enough), the comment is usually reserved for iconic artists in major travelling exhibitions who are extremely well known.
Does anyone here like abstract art? And if you really hate it, why?

J, do yo identify with the last graphic offering? the one by Wool?

This is the kind of art that means nothing to me. It was someone's great idea that became popular for whatever reason. I don't get that.

No I don't Poddster.

It's pretty subtle and yet descriptve.

It obviously means something to you Poddster. A connection.

But seriously J there is 100 times more artistic talent in one of your miniatures than all the abstract images on this thread

Where have I ever said this, ALL abstracts? I love abstract in general and am having some fun here . If you get the attraction of these works I'd love to know your opinion,. Its all part of the discussion., which I'm enjoying. it's great to get peoples' different responses to art.

Well thank you Poddster but only in some peoples eyes. I can't remember who said that they don't like hearing people say that they would love to be an artist but I would kill to have the talent of some of the artists that have been discussed here.

J I suspect that it is not their talent that you envy but the income derived from their "creations" 🙂 You already have talent

Well you would be wrong, Poddster.
