Adam Goodes Vs the spreaders of hate

We have people spreading the hate for everyone from the PM to the disabled and refugees everyday.

Today we have Adam Goodes, who truly lived up to his name.

Watching last night and the media beat up .I thought  it must have been really bad for Adam to be so upset .

After seeing her interview today I do not believe she ment it to be racist .

I agree with Eddie Maguire ..this girl is 13 and needs support aswell .

Perspective people. It was rude and disrespectful. I don't believe it's racist. A 13 yr old would look at Goodes, he does look somewhat like an ape in appearance. I doubt a collingwood supporter who's only 13yr would know the history of why that term would be considered racist.

I didn't know that calling an African American brother is considered racist. You can call me ignorant but not racist. 

Racist implies intent. I use the terms wogs as a term of endearment amongst friends. I can be considered one. However it can be use in a racist way. 

Anyways. I often have to remind people we are GREAT APES. So many ignorant religious people still thinks God created humans in our present form. I remember an episode where a religious figure called the police on a reporter because he called his family animals. It turns out he was just explaining the process of evolution of how humans evolved from other animals. 

We are APES and proud of it. 😄

Why isnt Bob being called racist and uneducated?

He and I pretty much share the same opinion yet, he has not been called names

I think as a white person, if I'm insulted or accosted for any reason it's relatively easy to brush this off. It hasn't happened to me too often in my life (but yes it has happened) and if it was a regular occurence I'd change circumstances to limit this.

It's not hard for me to imagine many of our indigenous population having to deal with this kind of ignorance daily, it can effect everything. Their ability to get a job, rent a house or just getting served in a shop.

How would you feel if every day of your life you met at least one person who insulted you, ignored you or avoided you just because your skin colour was different. You're not being judged on your abilities, your morals or your achievements just the colour of your skin. This happens, all the time.....

I think this girl is just plain old ignorant, I hear and see on FB how flippant the younger generation are with racist and sexist terms. They live in an era where they didn't see or aren't even aware of the battles that people fought to try and achieve equality. We've come along way but this just reinforces that there is still along way to go and I sincerely hope we don't slide backwards which I fear is happening.

At my work, amongst (if not at the top of the list) the worst people for verbal abuse are the Indigenous.

I have been called many many names that I cannot print here, but typically start with 

'b' and 'c'  with 'f' in front of it, by them, amongst others.

They need to take a look at their own behaviour.

Agree, I have been on the recieving end of the most putrid name calling for not giving fags or money on a trip to Alice Springs. That aside, this is a 13 year old girl, prob doesn't even know the meaning if racism, she has apologised so why is this still being beaten to death on here. Oh that's right. because you all want to show just how much you care.

Sorry Nics, but any form of acceptance of racism is unacceptable and is validating the behaviour. There no degrees of it. It is, or it isn't... and Goode said it hurt more than any other past incident. 

I do not accept any kind of racism Karen BUT my point was I think Goodes overreacted by saying he was "shattered"...he wouldn`t have wanted to be playing footy 30 years ago,the language I heard from those in the outer would make your hair curl:-( times have changed!!

The indigenous people have often learnt more of the swear words and have less developed literacy skills. Those significance of those words that they're been called for years is completely different for people that have always viewed them as terribly insulting words.

Ive been called a white c by kids as young as 9 years old.

Their parents have passed that racism down to them.

Just saw on the footy show another "collingwood"supporter has been caught on phone?calling the umpire and players "black etc"....he is an adult too and should have know better!!

It's not hard for me to imagine many of our indigenous population having to deal with this kind of ignorance daily, it can effect everything. Their ability to get a job, rent a house or just getting served in a shop.

I don't believe this to be the case, if the above was to occur they would have the TV camera's there quick sticks accusing the shop owner/ RE agent for discrimination, and they would have a good case. 

I am aware of bans put on them for inappropriate behaviour, shop lifting, being drunk and disorderly conduct in shopping centres.
