Hi,
I have a 5 month old puppy that I need to find boarding for over a weekend. First time I have done this, so wonder if anyone has any recommendations. I live in Melbourne near Chadstone shopping centre.
Thanks

ask your vet for advice......they will know which kennels have good feedback. you don't have a friend that can take the puppy for the weekend?

What sort of dog do you have? You live fairly close to me but I can't think of any 'local' ones.
I have a friend who does cat boarding (in her home, she is a TAFE teacher in animal studies). I am not sure if she boards dogs too, she may well do that. She is located in Mulgrave.
I know there is a boarding kennel on the way to Mornington Peninsula (after Mt Eliza on the FWY) as I've seen it when we've drive past, but no idea if it is any good or not.

When I boarded my cats - they had to be fully vaccinated
BUT
NOT within the last 2 weeks
I have to take the vaccination certificates with me.
I would also ask your local vet
and check the paper for local in-home boarding

I would be inclined to find someone who does in-home boarding, or even someone who could stay in your home for the weekend. I'd hesitate leaving such a young 'un in a boarding kennel.

You may find something on this site.
http://www.petplaces.com.au/houseswap.aspx
And google Pet Sitters Melbourne, you'll find plenty there.
Good luck.

We used Hanrob late last year. They are located out near the airport. But they do a free pick up from Chadstone Petbarn. They also drop pets back there for collection. We didnt check them out personally, as in go out there and inspect but were recommended by a friend that had been out there.
