I am going out to buy a new mattress.
Has anyone here had either a memory foam or latex mattress - what are the pros and cons?

You don't have the heat turned up on the waterbed in winter to make the bed warm?
no i never heated my waterbed, I used extra blankets in the winter, and used plastic and blankets under the sheets to avoid the sting of the cold mattress
If not, then that would be why the sheets feel damp.
it did just feel damp, it was actually damp from moisture

i mean if it leaked, you'd really know about it....right?

Joz the dampness is probably due to the fact that you perspire throughout the night when you sleep and when youi are not in the bed that moistrue condenses and makes the bed damp
Bite the bullet and heat the bed 🙂
You won't regret it

difficult to perspire if youre cold
i wont need to buy a heater for it coz i sold the stupid thing 30 odd years ago coz it damped the sheets which froze me *you know what* off
and i will never buy another one

My original waterbed weas just a huge watter blader and afte many years the plastic went brittle and developed a crack about 1/2 meter in length. At the time i was dreaming that i was om a yacht and I was busting and decided to pee over the side. I woke up and thoigh i had had an accident but alas it was the bed that had the accident

I'm not sure if the salesman was at fault
glad i got rid of it anyhow, as i did a fair bit of shifting... carting that bed around wouldve also been a pain
