You said Oregonians were progressive and imaginative. You also said Oregonians were among the most responsible gun owners in the Country...as if you're in a separate Country full of nothing but hi IQs and enlightened folks.
If you had bothered to read the articles, the Bundy's are from Nevada, and the "posse leader" and followers are from Idaho, a state that challenges Mississippi for the title of "dumbest state". Even the Harney County sheriff is in opposition to the terrorists. Harney County Sheriff David Ward on Sunday afternoon said a group of militants that seized an eastern Oregon wildlife refuge is trying to overthrow the local and federal governments. The group, Ward said, comprises outsiders who came to Harney County claiming to be part of militia groups supporting local ranchers. In a news release Sunday, Ward said that "in reality these men had alternative motives to attempt to over throw the county and federal government in hopes to spark a movement across the United States." If that doesn't constitute terrorism, I don't know what does.
It's great that the bastions of progressive liberals like Portland, Ashland, and the Willamette Valley exist in Oregon, those high IQs and enlightened folks are ample offset to the almost illiterate knuckle-draggers who inhabit the rest of the state.
