Another example of "me, me, me" parenting:

Parents get told to move out of cafe after baby screams the house down and get all huffy. This is a good companion piece to the breastfeeding mother one.

ironic really, people will complain about babies crying in restaurants etc, as it is disturbing their meal....putting up with screaming babies

while they are breast feeding they are quiet, and it still offends people...

can't win sometimes:^O

Children are part of life, if you want peace and quiet - don't go out!

I can't remember how many times my mother used to say on the way home from mass

"I felt so sorry for that poor mother" who obviously had a loud crying restless baby etc

the two issues really cannot be compared, one is governed by legislation, the other issue in the OP, is governed by a cafes own policies and management decisions.

I agree.I would not have stayed for the sake of others, myself and my child if my child was so distressed. It wouldn't be an enjoyable for anyone.I would have got some take away coffees as someone else suggested.

Re: Another example of "me, me, me" parenting:

When i was a new young mum, I was travelling to my parents place with my 2yr old son and my brand new baby in tow. It was a night travel by coach.  *sigh*  thinking about it now makes me shiver! LOL

the bub started to cry rather loudly at about 1am... I was beside myself worrying what the passengers must think. My rocking and obvious distressed attempts at soothing her were not working. Another woman passenger came to me and offered her assistance and I gladly accepted. she calmly told me and showed me a *few tricks* to keeping baby soothed.. THANK GOD FOR THAT LOVELY WOMAN.  :-x

Her intervention saved my sanity, the other passengers sanity, and showed me a few extra holding positions I didnt know.

In regards to this topic and these parents... no one likes to hear bad things said to them about their children or their parenting skills (or lack of them) especially when confronted in public. I think it could have been handled a bit better.
