Parents get told to move out of cafe after baby screams the house down and get all huffy. This is a good companion piece to the breastfeeding mother one.

In saying that though, i also had sense not to expect a baby/toddler to sit and be quiet while i had a coffee and a chat in a cafe. Its boring for them.
I think the same. There are some cafes with outdoor areas - maybe next to a small grassed area, and those aren't so bad, when the small child can get down and sit there with a toy or too, but confined inside a cafe... not much chance of them sitting still and quiet for any length of time.

I remember many years ago having frequent trips to the coffee shop with my sister and I used to sit there hoping that the owner would ask my sister to take her child outside.
That child could scream as if possessed and there was no telling my sister that his screams were really really unpleasant for everyone else.
Oh to have had her kicked out so I could enjoy my coffee in peace and quiet.:^O

As a family we have chosen suitable restaurants / cafes when taking the children. Some provide paper tablecloths and colouring pencils 🙂 or similar are taken with us such as books to read or these days my phone with it's apps:8}
Like everyone I don't go out to listen to screaming children but I do realise and appreciate that a few children have issues, and feel for their parents.

I've always taken the kids to cafes and restaurants. Sometimes they have behaved well and sometimes they have been a pain in the behind.
But at the first sign that their behaviour was/is affecting other people, we pack up and go.

When I was a young mum I took my newborn to a play I'd been wanting to see for ages with friends.
What was I thinking? I thought I could latch baby on to have a feed/snuggle/snooze. Silly me. I saw the first 10 min's of the play then spent the rest of it sitting in the foyer with my baby. Alone. :^O
