My dishwasher broke down over a year ago and I just never bothered to replace it. I don't mind washing the dishes by hand but it is missed at times like Christmas and when you are doing a lot of food preparation for an occasion.
Anyway, I've been instructed to get a new one before the ex gets back next time. The poor dear doesn't like to sit there and watch me wash the dishes 😄
I really like the idea of the dishdrawer type but only the Fisher and Paykel one is available here and some of the reviews are not good. Does anyone else have the dishdrawer or can anyone recommend one that is really easy to load and does a good job?

It's really, really easy to clean the filter too, and even the little agitator thingy lifts right out if necessary.

Excuse the bump but I made the decision and bought my dishwasher today. I ended up trying to decide between a Bosch one and Smeg again.
Smeg was the one. Donna, now I know what you mean by that cutlery rack. That pretty much sold it for me. The set up inside looks pretty good too.
Yay!! delivery tomorrow.

we made an agreement 32 years ago,be3fore we got married, that i would cook, and he would do dishes,or the other way around.
i MAY have done dishes a dozen times in those years, lol! he hates to cook! 😄
i wash the occasional pan,if i need it within an hour, but usuallly i just rinse them out and soak them.
i'm the one that keeps the sink spotless though,he never remembers to clean out the traps, bleach the drains, and wipe the sink dry(it's stainless steel, and i hate spots, lol!).
