The teacher in my family has a boy in the class who is named BOSS. So, when he indicates that he wants to answer or ask something, the teacher has to say "Yes Boss". Sticks in the craw somewhat. My opinion is the naming of that boy is quite cruel.
In the same school, there is a girl named UNEEK.
Then there are celebrities' babies and their names. They, perhaps, will not be pilloried as much as others, but it is still unkind in my opinion.

I think I would call him by his surname...... for example ...Jones or Smith.....if his teacher.
I imagine a girlfriend or wife would only address him by a nickname rather than boss also.

If it was Boz and he could sing, that would be acceptable to me.

My parents knew a couple named Sparrow who called their son Robin. I thought that was a bit mean.
My MIL's name - after she married - was Ivy May Lisson. (or there again she may not ) and I unthinkingly gave the same middle name to my daughter.
I think she finally forgave me after she got married..

I went to school with a girl who's mother had been Miss Leaf until she married Mr Flower.
My own mother didn't like her name, Isobel, because the children at her school used to chant "is a bell necessary on a bike" (way before that term came to mean what it might today)

The unusual spelling of traditional names gets me.. e.g. Rybekkah,Subryna, Mykel, Camryn, Emmali, Jessyka.
I have a traditional first name that is not that common and hard to spell for those not familiar with it.. no way would I saddle a kid with made up, hard to spell name.
