That is a hard one.......can you say on here what is the source of your infomation.
I can't find a marriage between George Underhill and Mary Skinner................nor can I find a birth for Geroge John Skinner abt 1867.......but I need to keep looking for that one without the middle name and see what comes up.

Punch.....does the son of that George happen to be born in 1863.....if it is I have ruled him out he married a Hannah.

According to Freebmd there is no marriages between Underhill and Skinner at all......................but there is no guarantee that it might not have been transcribed yet.

No flashie, he's 1864/65. he has a few siblings too. Fanny, Charles, frederick, gertrude & Louisa. george is the eldest. The mum is definitely Mary.
I can find a marriage between a george Underhill and an Elizabeth Mary Skinner, but its in 1874, so too late to be them.

I should be off to bed myself flashie.
i havent even attempted my own ancestry stuff for months, but i dont mind a little challenge on here when it pops up.
matilda, if you think I have the right family, i am happy to send you all the censuses right through from 1841 to 1881, cant seem to find him 1891, but havent looked overly hard.
have you considered buying his death certificate? that should tell you where he was born and when he arrived in Victoria.

Punch....I just had a quick look at the George Underhill you found.
There is a tree that has that family in it......it has George Underhill born 4-10-1863 Birmingham Warwickshire......is that the same one you found.
Because that tree has his middle name as Benjamin and that his was declared missing in the Boer War.
His parents were George Underhill and Mary Herbert.

Unfortunately the tree has no records saved to it so I can;t vouch for its accuracy.
OK...........I am really gone now.:^O
