Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

lol, I contacted the founders and survivors website with my suspicions thinking they would be interested, and they messaged me back with "we cant do genealogy research for you" 😐

So someone else is searching my fathers side of the family, that comes up as a tree hint, I've reviewed hint, it is my family I guess I add it to my tree?

Yes.................but I would still check other sources first.............jsut to make sure it is correct.

Trove and family search are good ones for verifying information.

Also you do guys upload photos of family members?

I keep my tree Private on Ancestry...........so that way I have some control over who gets copies of my pictures.

But I figure if someone has their tree open then that means that they are happy to share so if I find any family pictures I copy them without contacting the tree owner.

It is kind of a unwritten rule of genealogy that if someone gives you some information you give some information in return.

I spent 12 months chasing the wrong family :_|...........so yes it can be very confusing.

I guess it can be confusing at first, as you say, it's only been a day, you will soon get how it works.

I have wondered about photo's and since I have been able to source so much I thought I would put some old photo's up to share with a couple of people who have helped me.
